We are very grateful to the existing team of readers in the parish, but we are keen to recruit more over the coming months. We would be delighted to hear from parishioners, including children from upper primary and all secondary school stages, who would be willing to take on this role. Training is available to any volunteers. If interested, please pass your contact details to Fr Jim with a note that it is for the attention of Margaret Convery (readers co-ordinator). The easiest way to do this is by email stcharles@rcdop.org.uk
In the autumn, we would like to be in a strong position to offer RCIA to those who are interested in becoming full members of the Church. We currently have a small number of volunteers who facilitate this important process, but the team is in need of a few more members. Please consider if this is an aspect of parish life that you would be willing to support. Training is available to any volunteers. If you are interested, please speak to Fr Jim or pass him your contact details. Parish Pastoral Council

While the World Meeting of Families take place in Rome, the Pope has asked that the various local churches around the world join him in prayer and celebration. Spiritually, we can do this by including the Family in our prayers at Masses, above all on the weekend of 25th/26th June when the Pope will celebrate Mass for the World Meeting of Families and issue them with his mandate at the Angelus on Sunday, 26th June. You can follow the events in Rome through the official website www.romefamly2022.com and by downloading the App. The theme of the World Meeting of Families this year is Family Love; a Vocation and a Path to Holiness. There are prayer cards available in the porch for you to take away with you, and families are encouraged to say the official prayer together
