This weekend the second collection is for SPRED. Our Paisley Diocese SPRED offers people with learning disabilities: a personal friend who takes time to share life and faith, spiritual nurture in a small community of faith; and a sense of belonging to a parish community. Twenty-one SPRED groups meet in the SPRED Centre, our church halls and special needs schools, allowing two hundred parish-ioners to come together in faith and friendship to share and experience God’s love. Paisley SPRED supports three employees. In SPRED I feel that I belong and everyone is my friend. To donate to SPRED, you can visit the My Giving Hub at www.shorturl.at/JO578 and click ‘donate’ un-der the SPRED logo. Thank you.
Would you be willing to assist at the tea bar after the Masses on a Sunday morning? Or perhaps you could help with cleaning the church and hall, which we do on a fort-nightly basis? If so, please add your name and telephone number to the sheet in the porch, indicating your preference, and we will be in touch. Alternatively, please send an email to Fr Jim at stcharles@rcdop.org.uk

First Collection From this weekend, we will return to using collection bags for the first collection. Regularly visitors were leaving not having spotted the collection box so we will return to the previous system for the first collections. Second Collection Second collections will remain as they were – using the buckets that are available as you leave the church. Due to the extra costs of heating the Church, from now until the summer the buckets will be in place every Sunday. When there isn’t a nominated second collection we would ask that you donate, when you are able, anything extra that you can towards the heating. Our utilities are expected to cost around £20,000 this year, last year they were £7000. Next weekend the second collection will be for the Building Fund.
Our crib was blessed at the Christmas services and offerings placed in the box will be sent to St Margaret’s Children and Family Care Society. Please give generously to help the needs of families in today’s society. Today is the last opportunity to donate this year.
The Children’s Liturgy starts up again this weekend and parents are asked to encourage their children to join in at our 10.00am Mass so that they can experience the Word of God together.
A diocesan annual event. It’s a lovely way for all of the families to come together as a diocesan community and worship in song the birth of Our Saviour Jesus Christ. All donations will go towards SPRED. Tuesday 27th December at 2pm in St. Mirin's Cathedral
St Charles’ SSVP would like to thank everyone for the tremendous support shown to them by parishioners and friends over the past year - the response has been truly magnificent. At this time, we would like to wish you all a very happy and holy Christmas and every blessing for the coming year.

Bambinelli Sunday is celebrated on the Third Sunday of Advent. On that day children gather with their families in St. Peter's Square and bring figures of the Christ Child from their family's Nativity scene. During the noontime Angelus prayer, Pope Francis blesses the children and the figurines they have brought. Next Sunday, at the 10.00am Mass, we invite the children to bring along their figures of the Baby Jesus to be blessed.
